Step 1. Prevent:
We will clean, clear, and implement preventative measures;

  1. Eliminate debris and other harborage for rodents in and around the facility.
  2. Remove easily accessible rodent food sources, including spilled feed.
    – Eliminating food sources will increase the effectiveness of rodent baits.
  3. Clear/mow around the facility (~3 feet) to discourage rodents from entering.

Step 2. Identify:
We will find the location and severity of the problem;

  1. Examinations done at dawn or dusk work best.
  2. Are there fresh droppings, burrows, tracks, or gnaw marks?
    -we will be sure to inspect ceilings, other elevated runways, and facility grounds.
  3. We will enquire whether you do have rats, mice, or both?

Step 3. Execute: Implement baiting strategy according to target rodents and locations.

  1. a. Outside: Along the perimeter, place bait stations and replace eaten bait at least weekly to start.
    Determine areas where rats and mice will most likely find and consume the bait.
  2. Inside: Use bait stations. Place packs should be placed in attics, ceilings, or other hard to access areas that rodents are using.

Step 4. Monitor:
We will monitor the effectiveness of your program with record keeping.
We will change frequency of baiting with increased activity.
